"I was going to the worst place in the world, and I didn't even know it yet. Weeks away and hundreds of miles up a river that snaked through the war like a main circuit cable – plugged straight into Kurtz."
Apocalypse Now is a total masterpiece, it is a film that defies words. Based on Joseph Conrad’s novel ‘Heart of Darkness‘, Francis Ford Coppola transports the setting from the dense Congo to the horrifying Vietnam War, which creates a perfect backdrop for the themes that are painted on screen. The soundtrack has managed to change the way I hear ‘The End’ by The Doors forever, and it also contains some of the best dark synth work ever. Download it here. OR you can buy it instead.
